I have received heart-warming letters from a lot of our readers and would want to share some of them with you all. I would like to thank all those that took their time not only to read but also to send me letters. You all inspire me to keep writing.
Thanks and God bless you.
Below are some of the letters:
Re: Maria Hadiza Iye-Ojo Abu
My dear professor of GS101,
Business Day newspaper has become my favourite since my days in the business school and Friday edition is what I always look forward to reading, especially the back page. Thanks to the admiration of a student for his professor. So it is that yesterday I read the piece on “Maria Hadiza Iye-Ojo Abu: Still waters run deep”. Eternal rest grant unto her and let perpetual light shine on her.
Thank you for the piece, for such great love showered on your mother-in-law. Your writing gave vivid description of what their generation is known for: moral uprightness, generosity, love of neighbour and serving for the common good – values that are lacking in our time.
Once more, may God grant her eternal rest and grant you her children peaceful and happy atmosphere to lay her to rest.
Regards,
Smart.
Re: The new rude
Dear Madam,
Thank you very much for your write-up today on above subject. I wish it hits the right target – all of us (both the old and young) who are guilty of this often overlooked sin (rudeness). Can’t wait to read your next write-up.
Joe Okon.
Re: The new rude
This could be rightly tagged “The eleven commandments of EA as to how not to be rude”. An interesting piece, ma’am. Keep up the good work. My wife and daughter read it and took away some learning points. Do have a blessed week.
Philip Kyanet.
Re: The depth of knowledge
Hi EA, just read your piece as referred to above and it elicited great interest. I am blessed with three sweet daughters and a boy as the youngest. Interestingly, they are coping in school but don’t read as much as I would have loved them to. Please help!
Philip Kyanet.
Re: The depth of knowledge
Dear Mrs. Eugenia Abu,
Good morning, Madam. I stumbled on your write-up in BusinessDay newspaper. I was inspired that despite your busy schedule you could still incorporate all your desires to make things happen. I salute your commitment to learning “un francais”. Like yourself, the farthest I did was also to Form 3 but I desired to learn it. When I attended the shea conference in Ghana, March 2011, and met other participants from Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, etc. whom I liked so much but could not communicate with because “Je parle Anglais en peu Francais”, I promptly enrolled in a French school when I returned but could not finish. Why? I thought because of time but after reading your story, then I realized I did not put enough commitment. Another challenge then was practice! Even my children still doing French in school could not effectively communicate with me, so I would like to how you were able to practice what you have learnt so I could take a cue from that.
Mrs. Olasumbo Adeleke.
Re: The depth of knowledge
Dear ma,
I like the articles you publish in BusinessDay newspaper on Fridays; I like the topics you write on and your style of writing. Keep up the good work, ma. I also write your style and would like the world to know. I would like to know how to go about publishing my write-ups. I write on issues that concern teenagers and everyday people. I would like to know the steps to take in having a column in BusinessDay and would like to send some to you. I look forward to hearing from you.
Adebiyi Temilorun.
Re: My tea and I

Re: Flying on wings
I read with excitement your column in BusinessDay newspaper of Friday, 24th October, 2014. The focus was flying on the wings. The piece is so educative, informative and enlightening. I’ve learnt. I want to say a big thank you.
I am glad to let you know that I was privileged to check you in at Benue Hotels sometime in 2007 when you went for the starting-up of NTA Makurdi network centre. When I looked at you from a close range I discovered you’re a humble and straightforward person. You’re indeed an inspiration. God bless you.
Festus.
