The performance of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the National Assembly election last weekend appears sterling as three senatorial and six House of Representatives our candidates who covered the election in different polling units can report that Biodun Olujimi, former deputy governor to Governor Ayodele Fayose of PDP, was ahead of the incumbent Senator Tony Adeniyi of the APC.
Fatimat Raji-Rasaki of PDP was also in the lead at Ekiti Central senatorial district, ahead of Gbenga Olofin of the APC. Also in Ekiti North senatorial district, Duro Faseyi, a two-time member of lower chambers of the National Assembly and PDP candidate appears to run ahead of the incumbent and candidate of the APC, Senator Olubunmi Adetumbi.
It is the same story in the House of Representatives’ results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission as Ayotunde Oladimeji of the PDP appears to have an upper hand against former Commissioner for Environment under former Governor Kayode Fayemi and APC candidate, Eniola Ajayi, ahead of Ado/Irepodun/Ifelo- dun Federal constituency.
In Ikole/Oye Federal constituency, Kehinde Agboola of the PDP was leading in the race against director general of Fayemi Campaign Organisation and a serving member of the House of Representatives, Bimbo Daramola of the APC. Others include Ido-Osi/ Moba/Ilejemeje, Thaddeus Aina of the PDP in the lead ahead of Robinson Ajiboye of the APC; Ijero/Ekiti West/ Efon Federal constituency, Gboyega Oni of the PDP ahead of Oyetunde Ojo of the APC.
Also in Emure/Gbonyin/ Ekiti East Federal constituency, Akin Awodumila of the PDP may defeat Bamidele Faparusi, while the results of Ekiti Southwest/Ikere /Ise Orun Federal constituency was being awaited at the time of filing this report.
