As building technology and construction improve all over the world with emphasis on economy and durability, an indigenous roofing consulting firm, PlusWorld Roofing, has put up measures that will save the country billions of naira on roof repair and maintenance annually.
John Igbaifua, chairman/CEO, PlusWorld Roofing, made this known at a seminar organised for roofing construction workers in Lagos recently.
He said PlusWorld, in collaboration with its foreign partners, organised series of periodic workshops and training programmes under its youth empowerment and skill acquisition programmes.
Igbaifua said people often incure avoidable and unnecessary expenses while renovating their building roofs due to ignorance of the latest technology in that field of construction.
He said the world had moved from the dogmatic era of pull down and re-construct, a venture he termed ‘huge waste of time and money,’ adding that such could be done faster, easier and cheaper with new technological innovations.
Speaking on the processes by which the firm could cut cost with maximum result, Igbaifua said PlusWorld cutting-edge came to fore in the areas of roof restoration, repairs, general roof maintenance, and installation in roofline work, a process that knocked off close to 60 percent of the total cost of the renovation exercise.
“Our highly skilled and vastly experienced roofers are the pioneers in the field in the country and we give 100 percent adherence and compliance to health and safety of both the workers and the work environment, with well-established safety policies which measure up to both local and international standards,” he said.
