For those who understand the essence of life and that no one lives for ever right here on planet earth, it is always perfect when we make the lives of people around us better thereby leaving a foot print while we are gone. Oh yea…yea…i know most people just hate talking about dying but hey, it is unavoidable and there is absolutely anything anyone of us humans can do about it. Believe me, most people will be willing to pay millions not to die some day but sorry folks….we all know it must happen…no matter what. For those who are also afraid of death, you will have a better mindset on death if you can focus on touching lives and making a difference in the lives of people where ever you find yourself. When you have this milk of kindness and goodness in you, death will not be a threat to you.
Touching lives and making a difference in other peoples lives is not all about money but you can volunteer your time and resources to ensure that someone or some people(depending on your mentoring strenght) are successful and happy in life. It could be you had a very rough time yourself getting to where you are in your career life and your wish in life is to empower as many youths as you can so that they do not have to suffer so much before they achieve their dreams in life.
This talk today is for all career women/men out there who are willing to mentor youths(not just females only) to unveil their talents, skills and career path. Your mentorship could open fantastic doors for youths who do not know what career path to follow. So i would like to hear from anyone reading this (no matter where you are) willing to mentor just one youth in any chosen skill /career of your choice. Remember you can do your mentoring via emails, phone, skype. If you want to volunteer, simply send me a mail and i will arrange for an interview suitable for you to know who you are, what you do and the kind of person(s) you want to mentor.
There are Nigerian youths sitting idle doing nothing , no guide from parents and guardians and no clue what so ever on which business, career to follow. Most of them could be very skilled in certain areas of skills acquisitions but they need some kind of a push to get started. I do not believe that you can mentor some one, hepled someone to become somebody and successful and such a person erases your memory in his /her life. It is such a wonderful and lasting life experience and a memory that everyone carries along his/her entire life. This value is more than silver and gold being given to someone. Last year, my personal assistant gave me a name of one lady that called and insisted that she must see me for what i did to her several years back when i was living in Lagos.
I never recalled who the lady was till i spoke to her and heard her out. It happenend that i met this lady at a lagos bus stop, stained with her monthly flow , hungry, forsaken with no hope of survival.. with no where to go and i attended to her in my own little way. I just strated my writing career then in Lagos and never even had much but i still made a difference in the life of this lady. Today she is happily married with a thriving job in Europe and she visited Nigeria last year just to see me for what i did for her. Just remembering me after several years is enough!! Small world huh?
If you have a big business not necessarily white collar jobs but willing to have one or two jobless youths train in that area of business for FREE, this will be fantastic because, at the end of the skills acquisition/training, such youths can get a job easily in similar business sections, become self employed by starting a small business rather than waiting for government to employ them.
Being successful in your career/business is not complete if you did not use what you have to empower others. You have eaten best foods, drank best wines, travelled to best holiday destinations around the world, worn the best wears, lived in posh houses…all these are great because you worked hard to be where you are but you will be much ,more happier, fulfilled if you can touch other people’s lives, turn their lives around for good with what God have blessed you with. Now that is what i call- being a COMPLETE SUCCESS in life.
Mentoring gives you so much fulfilment because, you know you are adding value to someone’s life. Making someone who was nothing to be somebody is something that gives great joy to those who do it with all pleasure and sincere heart. Not forgetting that you will be more blessed in your area of career/business as you empower others.
I therefore urge anyone reading this today who is in a position to mentor our jobless youths from any part of the country to take up this wonderful life transforming challange. This could be the opportunity you have been waiting to do something good for mankind before you depart. There are people who have the heart to help but do not know the area of concentration or the right people to talk to. So this is a forum for you to train a jobless youth to acquire skills or Career counseling on how to pursue their chosen career.
The Government alone cannot cater for our jobless youths roaming all over Nigeria. Our youths must be counselled to understand that they do not have to wait for the Government before they can survive. There are so much our youths can do with their skills and talents but they need a forum to help them kick-start their career/business life.
Again the endless desire to work for the government is not developing our economy because there are no skills involved. People just want to work for government money without showing any thing productive that can generate money in our country. See how China phones flood our country. These are products experimented by China youths who never waited for the Chinese Government to give them jobs. The government can help in the area of putting the right facilities like affordable and steady power, shop outlets to make working easier and effective. No business survives without electricity/outlet one way or the other. Touch a life today and be fulfilled in life!
