Kwara State Government says the State Executive Council has approved the award of contracts totalling N17.8 billion, covering redesigning and wholesale rebuilding of the State-owned, iconic Kwara Hotel to a status of a five-star hotel
The contracts signed with the Craneburg Construction Company Limited, according to Damilola Yusuf, Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, is to cover the overall redesigning of the hotel and will take a duration of 24 months.

Yusuf added that, the project would be done through contract financing model to ensure prompt delivery, the construction and furnishing would be the most comprehensive “since the Kwara legacy hotel was constructed by the Brigadier-General David Bamigboye regime in 1975, clearly giving it an edge over any other facility in the entire North Central.”
“The contract award followed a long procurement process that began in September 2023”, she added.
