The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State chapter has petitioned Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the party, over the relocation of the Ebonyi State Election Petition Tribunal to Abuja.
Stanley Emegha, the state chairman of the party and Ofoke Chukwuma, the secretary, in the petition, urged Adamu to reach out to the appropriate authorities towards ensuring that the governorship, national and state house of assembly election petition tribunal is relocated back to Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
The party said that the return of the tribunal to Abakaliki would be in the interest of justice, equity and fairness.

They maintained that the relocation was the trick of the opposition parties, particularly, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State to truncate justice.
“You are truly aware that Ebonyi State under the leadership of Governor David Umahi is totally an All Progressives Congress (APC) State. Ebonyi State is the only state in the southeast that won the three senatorial seats in a landslide. You are also aware that Ebonyi APC convincingly won the just concluded gubernatorial election having Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru as the governor-elect.
“That it is pathetic that the loser PDP and its amateur governorship candidate, Ifeanyichukwu Odii (Anyichuks) have been bragging that they will secure victory at the tribunal though Ebonyians massively voted them out at the poll hence their uncalled for transfer of the election petition tribunal sitting in Abakaliki to Abuja.”
