Nigeria’s foremost table tennis championship tagged Asoju Oba Cup, will kick-off on Monday 24th and last till Friday 28th November 2014 at the Teslim Balogun stadium, in Surulere.
This years’ championship, the 46th in the series is privately sponsored Molade Okoya-Thomas.
Speaking at the press conference to herald the kick off of the 46th edition, the Lagos High Chief said:
“It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the press briefing to mark this year’s Asoju Oba Cup Table Tennis Championship.
“For the past 46 years that we have been on this journey, you have stood by me; you are my source of motivation and inspiration and let me reiterate that there could not have been Asoju Oba competition without your support.
“This years’ championship, the 46th in the series of my uninterrupted sponsorship is scheduled to take place from Monday 24th to Friday 28th November 2014 at the Teslim Balogun stadium, in Surulere. “
A total of 22 titles will be at stake in three different categories; cadet, intermediate and senior for singles, doubles, mixed doubles and also the Para-Table Tennis.

“I thank the honorable commissioner of sports in Lagos State, Barrister Wahid Akanni Oshodi, for accepting our invitation to be special guest of honour at the closing ceremony.”
Cash and material prizes are up for grabs for the most valuable players in both male and female events.
