President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday returned his nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the 2015 presidential election on the platform of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The forms were submitted on his behalf by Vice President Namadi Sambo.
It would be recalled that the president picked his forms on October 30 last day the party fixed for purchase of forms before the party further extended the date to November 6.
Sambo, who arrived the party’s secretariat at 12.20p.m, told the gathering that the Jonathan’s administration transformation agenda has touched the lives of all Nigerians and transformed the country into the best economy in Africa and 26th in the world.
He stated: “It is with pleasure and humility that on behalf of Nigerians, I am presenting to Mr. chairman to forward to national organising secretary, completed expression of interest and nomination forms of Mr. President for the presidential election”.
The PDP has fixed its convention/presidential primaries for December 10.
Also speaking, Adamu Mu’azu, national chairman of the party, applauded the party’s national caucus, board of trustees, National Executive Committee for endorsing the president as sole candidate of the PDP.

Mu’azu, who received the forms on behalf of the national organising secretary, Abubakar Mustapha, said with the completion of the nomination forms, Jonathan has fulfilled the desire of “the majority of our party members who asked you to run as sole presidential candidate of PDP in 2015. It is a sign of confidence by the people.
“This is as a result of hard work; this is a sign of commitment for the development of our country”.
The brief ceremony, which lasted barely 25 minutes, was attended by Senate President David Mark; secretary to the government of federation, Anyim Pius Anyim; deputy Senate president Ike Ekweremadu.
Others are deputy speaker, Emeka Ihedioha; chairman, PDP Governors’ Forum, Godswill Akpabio; members of PDP National Working Committee (NWC), and members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
