The Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) has urged entrepreneurs in Nigeria to prioritize value creation and innovation in carrying out business activity to achieve a successful and sustainable venture.
She also urged the government to intensify its efforts in providing an enabling environment as well as sustainable platforms for businesses to flourish in their different industries and sectors.
Speaking at the chamber’s sharing experience series themed creating impact, Bisi Adeyemi ,President & Chairman of Council, NBCC said Small and Medium Scale enterprises (MSMEs) are very important in every economy however they are susceptible to shocks due to the numerous prevailing business challenges in the country.
She said entrepreneurs need to prioritize creating value leveraging innovation which will serve as a platform for running a successful and sustainable business, adding that they can also learn from other successful entrepreneurs in forums such as this.

“This series is designed to provide a platform for accomplished leaders in the organized private sector to share their experience in the areas of entrepreneurship and professional career fueled by passion, audacity and innovation, which upcoming businesses can learn from to thrive,” she said.
Speaking of successful entrepreneurs, she highlighted Adenike Ogunlesi, Founder, Ruff ‘n’ Tumble, whom she described as someone passionate about quality and excellence, noting that started her brand from scratch and turned it into a reputable Pan- Africa brand operating in international standards.
In her remarks, Ogunlesi emphasized the essence of focus and capacity expansion as she encouraged entrepreneurs to be consistent in self and business development activities.
“The habit you build in employment is what you will transfer to your business; it is my desire that Nigerian brands take the center stage in the different industries and this can be done when we place the needed value on ourselves,” she said.
