Skills-Farm Limited, an approved HR certification training provider for Nigeria by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), has concluded plans to lead Nigerian human resources professionals through the globally-recognised range of human resources professional certifications.
Benny Nwagwu, the company’s HR certifications lead, made this known at the Skills-Farm Lagos office. “We are pleased to announce an exciting new opportunity for HR professionals seeking to expand their HR knowledge and be recognised as experts in their field,” Nwagwu said, while explaining that the partnership between Skills-Farm and SHRM, the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management, had been reinforced to offer courses to help HR professionals prepare for the HR Certification Institute’s credentials.
Commenting on the development, J. Robert Carr, SHRM’s Senior vice president for Membership, Marketing and External Affairs said SHRM is delighted at the opportunity to partner with Skills Farm and help prepare HR professionals in Nigeria to earn their credentials. “As an SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) myself, I have come to appreciate the difference that credential has made in my career,” Carr disclosed, adding that “those four letters, S-P-H-R, lets everyone know that I am a true HR professional.”
According to Nwagwu, the preparatory courses will utilise the blended learning approach, which provides both print and online materials to prepare professionals to pass the exam adding that this approach, combined with expert instruction, will help professionals through every step of the certification process from registration to taking the exam.
“With the help of outstanding tools produced by SHRM, our courses will help professionals prepare for the following certifications are Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) as well as the newly developed Human Resources Business Professional (HRBP) and Human Resources Management Professional (HRMP),” Nwagwu disclosed, adding that SHRM Learning Systems have been developed to deliver these certifications for HR professionals.
