The Cross River State commissioner for Commerce, RoseMary Archibong has dwelled on nutritional balance and industrialisation as the foundation on which the prosperity of the citizens depend.
The commissioner disclosed this Thursday when she declared open a two-day fund application master class for businessmen in the State at Transcorp Hotel in Calabar.
Archibong stated that with the depletion of oil, agro-business has become critical to ensuring food security and nutritional well-being of the populace, as well as creating employment opportunities for the teeming youths.
She maintained that the workshop which is to train entrepreneurs on how to access funds, expand the business, and enhance income, would furthermore translate to affordability for good nutritional options.

The Commerce Commissioner quipped that the Governor Ben Ayade-led administration’s agro-industrialisation drive has been a reference point in the nation’s quest for food sufficiency and economic diversification.
Earlier in her opening remarks, SUN’s Nigerian Coordinator, Ibiso Ivy King-Harry stated that SUN is a movement working with private businesses, Government, Civil Society Organizations, and the Academia with a view to ensuring not just food availability, but quality, vitamised, nutritious food by training entrepreneurs to access funds and expand businesses.
The training with the theme: Scaling Up Nutrition through Business, Markets and People was organized by SUN Business Network facilitated by WFP and Gain.
