Sona Agro Allied Foods Limited (SAAFL), a subsidiary of Sona Group of Companies, has given a boost to the Nigerian food products market with the introduction of a multi-cereal bar known as Corny. This move is part of the company’s vision to provide quality and affordable food products to Nigerians.
Officials of the company explain that Corny bar has the unique combination of corn-flake and oats topped with dry fruits, adding that it contains carbohydrate, protein, minerals and fibre and, therefore, is a wholesome snack that provides energy to keep the consumers going.
According to the officials, the new product, which is also a healthy and nutritious snack, can be served as a breakfast or a healthy snack for those on the move, disclosing that it comes in pack size of 20 grams for individual, and a soft pack of six for family.
“Corny is the first multi-cereal bar to be produced in Nigeria and is targeted at children and adults who are looking for healthy and nutritious snacks as alternatives to chips, pastries, rolls and chocolate bricks; the need of the hour is to be health-conscious and look for snacks that help us balance our active life with our nutrition needs; Corny is produced and packed to international standard using German technology,” a statement from the company assures.
The statement informs that SAAFL has state-of-the-art factory for biscuits with European and Asian plant and machinery at Ijoko Road, Sango Ota. Presently, the soft dough unit is working but soon the hard dough unit will be in operations leading to the expansion of product range.
The plant operation is managed by experienced local and expatriate staff and manufactures biscuits, corn-puff, cream wafers and other products. The key brands are Sona Aktive, Sona Malty and Sona Snowy in the biscuit category, Cheese Bite in corn-puff category and Golden Fairy Vanilla in cream wafer category.
