The Ekiti State government plans to inaugurate price regulatory committee to check the continuing spike in prices of commodities in the state.
Decrying the sharp increase in prices of commodities compared to neighbouring states, the state said the committee would look into the remote causes of the hike and come up with measures to control the prices.
The chief of staff to Governor Kayode Fayemi, Biodun Omoleye, who made this known during the monthly Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting held in Ado Ekiti, said the state government has been meeting with stakeholders in bringing down the prices of commodities, especially during this festive period and beyond.
He urged all stakeholders to join hands with the state government towards making life more meaningful to the citizenry.
