Lagos on Sunday lost its first position on Nigeria’s new coronavirus cases table, displaced by Abia, as the country confirmed 260 more infections.
Abia recorded 67 cases followed by the FCT and Lagos, with 40 and 38 new cases, respectively, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. Until now, Lagos, which is regarded as the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria, has always occupied the first position on the table.
Nigeria’s total confirmed cases rose to 12486, the NCDC said, with 3959 patients discharged and a death toll of 354.
Other states and their figures were: Ogun-19, Gombe-16, Edo-14, Imo-9, Kwara-8, Katsina-8, Nasarawa-8, Borno-8, Kaduna-6, Bauchi-5, Ekiti-4, Niger-2, Ondo-2, Plateau-2, Kano-2, and Sokoto-2.
Globally, as of 3:47pm CEST, 7 June 2020, there had been 6,799,713 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 397,388 deaths, reported to WHO.
