Power Oil, the cholesterol-free vegetable oil produced by Dufil Prima Foods, maker of Indomie Instant Noodles, has been endorsed by the Nigerian Heart Foundation (NHF), Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) and other respected regulatory bodies in the country.
Speaking during the official NHF endorsement of Power Oil, Akinkugbe, Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Foundation, commended Dufil for manufacturing the cholesterol-free oil which he said would translate into helping Nigeria considerably reduce heart disease and the deaths associated with it.
“Cholesterol-free oil is the way to go in this age where there are so many heart-related ailments, mostly caused by consumption of adulterated palm oil. Heart-friendly and affordable oil, like Power Oil, would go a long way in checking the consumption of adulterated oil which many Nigerians had been patronizing when quality oil was still unaffordable,” he said.
Also speaking in Lagos recently, Kingsley Akinroye, Executive Director of NHF, said due to its cholesterol-free components Power Oil was indeed ideal for the heart and would go a long way towards ensuring cardiovascular health in the country. “Our plan is to meet the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) target of reducing the number of cardiovascular deaths by 25 percent before 2025. Products like Power Oil will help us achieve that goal,” he declared.
During the media launch of Power Oil in Lagos late last year, both the National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) had also given Power Oil their solid backing. At the event, Fred Akingbesote, Head, MANCAP, SON, said the vegetable oil brand had scaled a very demanding tripartite test for standards and could be reckoned with in the market.
On his part, Guarav Divivedi, General Manager, Power Oil, said the brand’s passion for the general well-being of consumers informed the massive effort channeled into producing a cost-effective product that would keep their hearts healthy. “It is highly gratifying to see our product obtain this endorsement by experts.
