Cherish Enterprise Institute Limited, and Adamstart Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a strategic partnership which would focus on delivering enterprise and skilled education for young Nigerians mostly in underserved area.
The strategic partnership between both parties is to drive the social entrepreneurship partnership for young Nigerians, while also driving knowledge-driven programmes that create wealth and build capacity as part of measures geared towards cracking down unemployment in the country.
The partnership, entitled ‘First-mover Advantage’ will provide an innovative centre of excellence for Entrepreneurship education, accredited vocation skills training, mentoring and the entire value chain of enterprise opportunities for young people in Northern states, in mostly unserved and underserved area.
Abba Ruma, a former cabinet member and the Executive Vice-chairman of the Cherish Enterprises Institute Limited told newsmen over the weekend that the strategic partnership with Adamstart represents brave hope as well as courage for a knowledge-driven economy.
He states that the purpose of the partnership is to reach out to the unserved and underserved population in mostly rural areas who represents the hope for a better Nigeria when an opportunity beckons.
“This school is not located in Abuja, it is located 20 minutes away from the Katsina city precisely in Batsari local government areas.The target is to reach out mostly to the unserved and underserved rural community.
“The curriculum design and the product of the entire project is tailored to unserved women, youth and the girl child; while focusing on training and capacity building for the unemployed Nigerian.”
He said, “The target audience is informal sector whether they have been in the school or not and those that have gone to school could take advantage of our training hub to develop themselves into global knowledge-based economy while advancing their trade with our master class trainers.”
Adams Bradford a senior official of Adamstart at the signing ceremony in his remarks said,”I’m delighted that our first target action to transform opportunities for Africa’s youth is launching from Nigeria. The commitment and tenacity of Dr.Ruma and his team are to be commended and I cannot think of more exciting partners for us to create such value with.
He notes further that, “We will stimulate three economies together; the economy of knowledge, the economy of money and the economy of impact.
I hope every young person today feels a glimmer of hope that opportunity is once again coming, Adams, notes.
