Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), an independent, non partisan, non sectarian organisation committed to fostering open and continuous dialogue on Nigeria’s economy development has partnered Jobmag center, a specialist training and human resource and career development firm to further broaden and develop the competence of young people in order to position them to become job creators to develop the country.
The partnership which will see JobMag leverage on the platform of Nigeria economic summit group to educate and forge a strong base for the development of young and enterprising entrepreneurs and competent job creators.
Frank Nweke the second, director-general of Nigeria Economic Summit Group while speaking at a special interactive section tagged youth capacity building in Nigeria: Entrepreneurship, employability and mentorship disclosed that young people are the greatest resource any nation can boost of.
“Citizen and institutions at every level must do everything that is practicable to encourage the education of the youth and to encourage the employment of youths and to encourage the overall development of young people” he said.
While speaking about the partnership, Nweke noted that NESG would make available facility and members who are mostly corporate chief executives to provide talks, mentorship and to provide opportunities for young and aspiring entrepreneurs to learn things from them and hopefully to get started on their own.
He further commended the initiative of JobMag for the commitment and vision of the founder toward youth and national development.
He called on young Nigerians to take a lead from the Jobmag initiative and see how they can contribute to the development of the most productive population of the nation and not just leave everything to government.
According to him, “The citizenry has to be aware of what is going on in the country. This is important especially because majority of the youths are young professional. There is a large gap in terms of the information and knowledge about public issues and public policies that youth are not aware of and to a large extent these are the professionals who are middle class players.
“So it is much easier to manage an enlighten populace and citizenry. So government must consciously try to educate them just as indeed every institution. This is exactly what the NESG is doing right now”.
On her part, Maureen Iyasele, founder JobMag Center observed that sustainable economic growth must be made employment intensive such that key economic stakeholders such as government, non-governmental organisations and private sector must pursue strategies, programmes and policies to achieve this objective.
Iyasele reveals that the partnership with NESG will further enhance the core value of charting a new course of job creation in Nigeria.
