OGZ Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing Gen Zs and Millennials by empowering them through education, entrepreneurship and community outreach will host its inaugural Mill-e-Naira Conference at the Mauve 21 Events Centre, Ibadan on the 19th of December. More than 500 young Nigerians between the ages of 20-32 are expected to attend the event which will be the first of its kind in Oyo State to fuse entrepreneurship education, mentorships sessions and networking into one day of lasting impact.
The conference will kick off with a keynote address from the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin who at 32 years is the youngest head of a Nigerian legislative house. It is expected that he will share with participants steps the Oyo State legislature, under his leadership, will take to push and create key legislation that will support youth entrepreneurship and provide opportunities for job creation especially at the grassroots level.

To derive the most impact from the conference, OGZ Foundation is working with various partners in the public and private sector who are invested in promoting youth entrepreneurship and are driven by a desire to support innovative ideas and platforms that bridge the gap between Nigerian youths and the opportunities that will help them grow. “It is a pivotal time in Nigeria and the world at large and there is no better time to invest in human capital than now. We are very excited that the Oyo State Government has chosen to partner with us”. Says Damilare Zaccheus, the founder of OGZ Foundation. He believes that young people who attend the conference have a lot to benefit from speakers at the event that will prepare them for the next moves they want to make in their lives.
Other speakers at the event include; Seun Fakorede, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Oyo State, Creative Entrepreneur Editi Effiong; Ayo Bankole, Convener of SME Connect and Head of Strategy at one of the nation’s top insurance companies; Oluwatosin Olasehinde, Founder of The Money Africa; Adaeze Zita of Seedstars Nigeria; Phoebe Dami-Asolo of TGI Group and many others who have shown expertise in their respective fields as leaders of thought. These public and private sector experts will share strategies that will help undergraduates, fresh graduates, young professionals and entrepreneurs improve their knowledge on how to bring ideas to fruition, brand their products and services, plus the impact of mentorships in a highly competitive business landscape.
The event will also feature panel discussions, networking, and Q & A sessions where participants will get needed answers to questions about business and public life. “We are heavily invested in helping the next generation of young people craft a narrative that puts them in the driving seats of their businesses and careers. Despite socio-economic challenges, we believe with the rights skills and partnerships, young Nigerians can excel as much as their peers in other societies” says Edward Israel-Ayide, the Public Relations and Partnerships Lead at OGZ Foundation.
In November, the Oyo State Internal Revenue Service (OYSIRS) disclosed that the state’s monthly internally-generated revenue (IGR) had moved from N1.3 billion to N2.7 billion, many believe this is a result of a reinvigorated economy brought about by the progressive policies of the new state government. It is expected that through the conference, new businesses and opportunities will open up in the state that will add to its allure as the newest destination for businesses and investments in the Southwest region of Nigeria.
