Cabinet Meeting: Buhari charges Ministers not to fail Nigeria
President Muhammmadu Buhari on Wednesday charged his new Ministers not to fail the country.
This is just as he urged them to work in harmony to achieve the three cardinal objectives of his administration, namely, to fight corruption, tackle insecurity
The Cabinet meeting, being the first since his inauguration, cover lost grounds, coming more than 100 days after the President’s inauguration
President Buhari had charged the Ministers on their inauguration, to ensure that they work to achieve the target of delivering on federal Government Policies and Projects as listed for the periods of 2019-2023.
The meeting, which is the first under the second term administration of President Buhari, started around 11am in the Council Chamber with rendition of the National anthem.
In his brief remarks at the beginning of the meeting, the President charged the ministers that they cannot afford to fail Nigerians.
He reminded them of the oath they took three weeks ago, he said they must give selfless service to the nation
The meeting is being attended by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Head of Service, Winifred Oyo-Ita, National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, and Ben Nwabueze, Director General DG, Budget office.
After confirmation of the appointment of the 43 Ministers by the Senate and two-day retreat in the Banquet Hall, the ministers were sworn in by the President on the 21st of August, 2019.
The FEC meeting was still in progress at the time of filing this report.
