The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on Tuesday wrote to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), demanding information of voter accreditation as captured by the card readers deployed for the Presidential elections in the Northern States.
Osita Chidoka, spokesman for the PDP at the INEC collation centre in Abuja, in a statement following the announcement of results from Bauchi State, noted that INEC guidelines required the use of card readers for the elections.
“We have a letter hear from the chairman of the party that seeks information on required accreditation as done by the card readers. We are now seeing results coming from Bauchi, Yobe, Borno that seems like we are in 2 countries. In the South people use the card readers, but it seems like in the North where there has been insecurity and insurgency people are voting freely, even with threat to their lives.”
