The people’s democratic party (PDP), presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, pulled 374,743 votes to defeat the all progressive congress (APC), candidate Muhammadu Buhari who scored 324,904 votes in Taraba state in last Saturday’s presidential election.
Prof. Shehu Iya, Deputy vice Chancellorof Aliyu Modibo university of Technology Yola Adamawa state, the State Collation officer, announced the result on Tuesday in Jalingo, after collation from the 16 local government areas of the state.
He said that the state had 1,777,105 registered voters, out of which, 756,111 were accredited for the election.
Iya added that the total of 741,564 votes were cast, out of which APC scored 324,906 votes and PDP scored 374,743 votes.
According to the collation officer, the exercise recorded a total of 712,877 valid votes and 28,687 votes as rejected.
He commended the electorates, stakeholders and party agents for the peaceful elections, commitment, and cooperation throughout the exercise.
The agents of the APC Prof. Abbas Bashir and the PDP Haruna Gbana accepted the result and signed the documents on behalf of their parties
Meanhile, the senator representing Taraba northen zone in the red Chambers under the platform of the PDP Shuibu Isha Lau, has returned his seat with 113,580, votes beating the APC candidate Yusuf Almed Adamu who scored 111,412.
