The Presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Yusuf Yabagi Sani, has deplored the statement credited to President Muhammadu, in which the President ordered the security agencies to deal ruthlessly with ballot box snatchers during the resheduled polls saying that Buhari made the comment out of frustration.

Sani stated this on Wednesday at a press conference in Abuja, even as he advised President Buhari to retract the statement and apologize to the nation for the growth of the nation’s democracy. He noted that such deplorable comment should not be made by a president of a country in the interest of sanctity and human lives.

“We all know that Buhari is a victim of circumstance. It is difficult for him to free himself from the cabals around him. The cabals are still in charged” he stated.

Sani said called on Nigerians to remain focused and be steadfast at this electioneering period, adding that Nigerians should not mind the desperation of the two dominant political parties- the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) trying to attain power by all means.

He however, reminded the Federal Government that Nigeria as a country remained greater than any individual or group of individuals saying that the need to uphold the country despite all struggles cannot be underestimated.

According to him, “We have seen the kind of desperation going on by the two so call political parties. We however want to call on Nigerians to be steadfast not minding their struggles.”

“What happened last Saturday was very unfortunate, but we cannot afford to fail as a nation, as other countries of the world are watching what is going on here in Nigeria. The right thing must be done for us to move forward” he cautioned.

As for the INEC, Sani stated that it can deliver, but he however urged the INEC chairman not to be distracted by the desperation of the APC and the PDP presidential candidates.

“To me, what happened last Saturday, INEC chairman was just acting. There is more than the logistic they were talking about. INEC chairman cannot just come out and postpone the election few hours to the poll.

“What INEC demonstrated shows that they were ready to deliver free fair and credible elections? What logistic problem few hours to election” he said.

Sani also called on electorate to come out e-mass and vote for him and others on the platform of the ADP in the coming elections, as he promised to deliver dividend of democracy if he becomie president of the country.
