Twelve years after lifting their ninth in Glasgow, Real Madrid will be fighting for another Champions League title, this time in Lisbon.
The final will take place on Saturday the 24th of May, in the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica against Chelsea or Atlético de Madrid.
It will be the thirteenth final in Real Madrid’s history. The Whites have reached the round more than any other team, followed by Milan, with 11, and Bayern, with 10.
The Whites have an impressive record there: nine titles from a possible 12, in other words, they have won 75% of their finals.
The 1950s and 60s were dominated by the team from Spain’s capital, with eight finals and six titles. After losing in 1981, the Whites reigned again in 1998, 2000 and 2002. On the 24th of May, in Lisbon, they will be battling for the coveted Décima in their thirteenth final.
