Since its inception in 1987, the iconic and compact off-road Jeep Wrangler built in America, and now in its third generation has undergone 3 major design revisions, and through the changes, Wrangler legend continues to be regarded as a fun choice and an exciting adventure for everyday driving.
Awarded in 2013 by the ‘Four Wheeler Magazine’ as the “Four Wheeler of the Year” for the third consecutive time, the Jeep Wrangler is a sports utility vehicle that was born to rule the trails. Chrysler constantly adds more features targeted at maximizing comfort to expand the appeal of the Jeep Wrangler beyond the off-road world.
The Wrangler Sahara on offer comes with a 5-speed Automatic transmission and strikingly arrives with a black 3-piece Removable Hard Top. The Four-door Wrangler Rubicon version offers tunable monotube shock absorbers, which feature low speed tunable valve technology that’s firm on the rocks and relaxed at higher speeds. Standard Dana 44 front and rear axles are equipped with Tru-Lok locking differentials and offer the ultimate in traction.
The front axle sway bar disconnect allows for better articulation off-road. The two-door Wrangler Sport has full metal doors with roll-up windows, comes with rear compartment storage space and a front stabilizer bar. Every Wrangler vehicle, including the Sahara is fortified with under body armor that protects its critical components with 2.5-mm stamped steel skid plates on its fuel tank and transfer case.
Heavy duty forged-steel dual front and single rear frame-mounted tow hooks for pulling less capable vehicles out of ditches, come standard. Also standard, are the high-efficiency round fog lamps which include chip-resistant polycarbonate plastic lenses with halogen bulbs that provide a low, wide beam of light.
The 2014 high-end luxury Wrangler boasts a powerful and efficient 3.6L Pentastar V6 VVT engine. Voted as one of Ward’s 10 Best Engines for 2013, this 285-horsepower engine is ready to provide you with power, satisfying fuel efficiency with up to 600 km on a tank of fuel, and will deliver up to 260 pound-feet of torque. The Command-Trac 4WD system helps deliver more control and more torque at the wheels to help you go virtually anywhere you point your vehicle.
Wrangler comes with a wide range of standard and available safety and security features like the standard advanced multistage front airbags which help provide occupant protection by matching airbag output to impact severity. There are also side-supplemental airbags with sensor detection, an on-road four wheel disc antilock brake system (ABS), brake assist and more.
Drivers will appreciate the standard Wrangler tyre pressure monitoring display system to enable them drive with the utmost confidence, the Sentry key Engine System- this system makes it virtually impossible for anyone without a valid key to drive your vehicle, and the electric stability control (ESC) with the trailer sway control (TSC) help keep you (and whatever you are towing) safely and securely on course and under control.
More includes hill descent control (HDC) which helps monitor throttle, speed and braking when travelling downhill, plus hill start assist (HSA) which keeps your brakes applied for a short time after you’ve removed your foot from the brake to give you time to accelerate without rollback.
(5) Brazilian luxury coaches enters Nigerian market
The competition for market share appears to be getting more interesting following the the media presentation some of the technical details of Neobus N10 commercial passenger luxury bus being introduced into the Nigeria market by Neo Africa Buses & Coach (Pty) Limited to the motoring press inside Weststar Associates office in Lagos.
On hand to give highlights and market forays of the new product Alberto R. Punnalin, managing director, NeoBus Africa & Coach (Pty) Limited. He said the introduction of the buses into the local was aimed at meeting the transport needs of commuters, adding that the bus company is joining the fray with a lot of promises.
Answering BusinessDay’s question on the current Neobus team’s interest in the Nigeria market Beatriz Montes Ortiz, regional manager, Regional Office and Management, Daimler Buses Africa said that,it was borne out of the growing opportunities that abound in the commercial passenger business in the country. She maintained that at the moment, Nigeria remains the toast of most luxury coach makers.
Neobus began in 1991, with the manufacturing of components for the industry automotive. In 2000, we at the company began fully dedicating ourselves to developing vehicles for passenger transportation, starting by manufacturing the micro-bus Thunder+: a unique product and developed for heavy traffic.
In 2002, Neobus rolled out Spectrum, a vehicle that represented not only a new alternative in the market but also the launch of a new category. That is justified by the fact that the model extends past 9 meters long, where micro buses practically end, and reaches 11 meters, a length at which conventional buses start. That way, the Spectrum secured its share in the market.
Neobus kept on working, and in 2004 introduced another one-of-a-kind bus: Thunder Plus, a micro bus whose door projects over the front axle and by so doing provides seating for an additional six passengers.
In 2006 and 2008, our company worked heavily on charter models, such as the Spectrum Road and Spectrum Class lines, which represent solutions for a segment that grows every year stemming from the benefits offered by companies to their employees.
Two years later, in 2010, Neobus met the market’s expectations in advance and introduced the Mega BRT, a bus conceived and designed to supply the major demands of mass transit, including those taking place during the 2014 World Soccer Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. However, the Mega BRT is going to be a permanent solution, even after the great events are over. It should be pointed out that this model is meant to be used on segregated lanes, and at the time was awarded the title of the world’s largest bus.
In the course of 2012, our company launched our First Road Bus Series, comprising uniquely designed vehicles that pair comfort and safety.
