The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has told BusinessDay that it is aware of the ongoing merger talks between Access and Diamond Bank. The CBN said last night that it is aware of the meetings but has not received formal communication concerning the outcome of the meeting
“We are aware that there have been meetings but we are yet to receive any formal communication from the parties in that respect”, Isaac Okorafor, director, corporate communications department, CBN told BusinessDay.
BusinessDay had earlier reported plans by Access Bank to acquire Diamond Bank but Diamond Bank has issued a statement denying the linkage.
