The Lagos Angel Network (LAN) in collaboration with the Bank of Industry (BOI) held an event on November 2nd 2018 at the Impact Hub, 14 Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The theme of the event was “Raising capital for your startup” and it was the first in a series of events designed to give entrepreneurs an opportunity to meet and have one-on-one interactions with Angel Investors and credit specialists looking to provide debt and equity funding for viable businesses. Participants also learnt about how the Lagos Angel Network (LAN) and Bank of Industry (BOI) select businesses to fund.

The first discussion session was titled “Preparing your Business for Angel Investment”. Mr. Ike Eze spoke on “What investors look for” and was followed by Ms. Bunmi Lawson who spoke on “How to determine your funding requirements”
The second part of the event was the BOI led discussion session entitled; “Using Credit Effectively as a Start-Up”. Mr. Sunday Afolami spoke on “How to Access BOI Loan”.
The major objectives of the event were to:
- Provide insights on what entrepreneurs need to do to attract Angel Funding for their ventures
- Showcase low-cost credit products and services available to entrepreneurs
- Provide a platform for entrepreneurs to interact with experienced Angel Investors and Credit Specialists
- Elicit feedback on what entrepreneurs will like to see/get from a LAN-BOI partnership
