Four the fourth time, and in what seems high level intrigues, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Lagos has been postponed.
The election which earlier had been scheduled to hold on Tuesday September 25, then shifted to Saturday, September 29, again shifted to Sunday 30, and then Monday, October 1, is now to take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2018, according to the leadership of the ruling political party.
Sunday while addressing a press conference, Akinwunmi Ambode, Lagos State governor and contestant in the election lamented the continued shifting and changing of the guidelines and rules of the primaries, and charged the leadership to ensure a level playing ground for all.

He insisted on contesting in the primaries despite pressure to withdraw.
Ambode is contesting against his only rival, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a former commissioner for establishments and training, who is believed to be the anointed candidate of the party leadership in Lagos, having been endorsed by the Mandate Group, a formidable political movement within the Lagos APC, which had play a key role in Ambode’s emergence in 2015. The group is headed by Bola Tinubu, national leader of the APC and former governor of Lagos State, who himself has asked Ambode to withdraw from the race.
