Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has shifted the meeting of the Weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) forward by one hour to 10am.
The meeting, when presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari usually starts by 11am.
BusinessDay gathered that many of the Ministers were jolted by the shift in time as many had already adjusted to the 11am time and had to make frantic calls to their heads of Departments and Agencies who are expected to join them in defense of their memos submitted for consideration and possibly approval.
The Federal Executive Council meeting is usually looked forward to by investors, political pundits and other stakeholders in the economy, as government use the meeting to shape policy directions for the country.
Acting President Osinbajo takes over the mantle of presiding over the Council whenever President Muhammadu Buhari is not available and the Council usually approves memos submitted by Ministers after careful deliberations.
BusinessDay gathered that several memos, including those from the Ministries of Power, Works and Housing, Finance, Education amongst others have been lined up for consideration at today’s Council meeting.
