Vice President Yemi Osinbajo Monday, held meetings with heads if security agencies including Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris; the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami and the Director-General of the Department of State Security, Lawal Daura, for over an hour.
The meeting came on the heels of the police invitation extended to Senate President Bukola Saraki, over alleged link with Offa robbery suspects.
President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier met with the service chiefs and heads of other security agencies.
The IGP refused to speak with State House corespondents after the meeting with Osinbajo, but instead referred them to the Vice President’s Aide de Camp (ADC).
The meeting held behind closed-doors at the Vice President’s wing of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting according to a Presidency source was said to be convened over the summon of Senate President Bukola Saraki by the police over his alleged relationship with suspects arrested following the April 5 bank robbery in Offa, Kwara State.
Cornered by State House Correspondents to brief on what the agenda of the meeting was about, the IGP said that all enquires should be directed to the ADC to Osinbajo.
The much awaited meeting between President Buhari and the new Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP in the All Progressive Congress ( APC) did not hold as at press time.
It was not immediately clear if the travails of the Senate President who is a key member of the nPDP affected the meeting.
