The Kwara State House of Assembly has confirmed 19 names of nominees forwarded by the State Governor, Abdul Fatah Ahmed as Commissioners in the State.
The Legislature dissolved into Committee of the Whole House to confirm each of the 19 nominees one after the other, after the screening exercise session.
The Speaker, while directing the Clerk of the House, Ahmed Katsina Mohammed to communicate the Governor on the status of all the 19 nominees, said the confirmation was in accordance with Section 192 subsection 1-5 of the 1999 Constitution.
Ahmad then praised Members for working conscientiously towards ensuring the confirmation of the nominees and enjoined them not to relent in the task of providing platform for good governance in the state.
The Speaker expressed delight over the performance of the nominees and enjoined them to put their wealth of experience and exposure into bear, in order to further engender quality service delivery in the state.
The nominees, while answering questions from members on a wide range of issues, promised to add value to governance, to further make democracy more meaningful to the people of the state.
