The public outcry against killings in Nigeria is eliciting outside Nigeria as President Donald Trump on Monday, kicked against the of Christians in Nigeria
Trump told visiting President Muhammadu Buhari emphatically that the killings especially of Christians was unacceptable to the American government.
Trump stated this when he received President Muhammadu Buhari at the White House, Washington DC,
The American President also condemned the spate of killings by terrorist groups in Nigeria, describing it as a ‘terrible problem’”
The major emphasis of President Buhari’s visit to the United States is to find help to tackle the increasing wave of insecurity that has ravaged parts of the country, including the Boko Haram insurgency and the increasing attacks on innocent farmers by herdsmen
President Buhari met with the American President to among other things, discuss ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the two countries and to advance shared priorities, including promoting economic growth, fighting terrorism and other threats to peace and security.
Buhari’s visit is also being used to deepen the US-Nigeria relationship as the United States considers Nigeria’s economic growth, security and leadership in Africa to be critical aspects of their strategic partnership.
