The Senate on Wednesday adjourned plenary abruptly for lawmakers to visit the National Hospital, Abuja where the Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory, Dino Melaye is under admission.
The delegation will be led by Senate President Bukola Saraki and other senators who are medical doctors.
Lawmakers also summoned the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to appear before plenary within 24 hours on why the embattled senator was maltreated by the police despite his status as a federal lawmaker.
The police boss is expected to appear before plenary on Thursday, April 26 by 11am to explain the role of the police on the matter on live television.
These resolutions followed a motion moved by Samuel Anyanwu (PDP, Imo State) who decried the inhuman treatment meted out to the lawmaker by the police.
