It will be recalled that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had in October 2017 asked the house to extend the tenure of the caretaker committees by six months following their constitution in March 2017.
Presiding at the Plenary on Thursday, the Speaker of the House, Bamidele Oleyeloogun appealed to all Directors of all the eighteen Local government areas to handover to their chairmen with immediate effect.
The Governor, had on Tuesday inaugurated members of the State Electoral Commission(ODIEC) in preparation for the conduct of the local government election with N2 billion earmarked for it in the 2018 Budget.
