Presidency has warned members of the newly inaugurated boards of Ministries, Departments and Agencies ( MDAs) against undue interference in the management of their respective agencies.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, while inaugurating boards of Parastatals under his office, Tuesday, charged the board members on the need to” allow the their agencies perform their day to day running without hindrance ”
The SGF reminded the board members that their appointments, unless where expressly stated, are on part time basis
He stressed that their conducts, allowances and entitlements are as expressly stated in the extant laws and advised them to acquaint themselves with the relevant circulars
Boss Mustapha warned that current administration has ” zero tolerance to corruption, adding that ” government will frown at and punish corrupt practices perpetrated by any board member as well as management team”
The SGF also charged all MDAs to ensure that all boards are inaugurated on or before the 16th of March, 2018, in line with the directives of President Muhammadu Buhari.
He charged the boards to give proper policy direction to the management of their institutions.
” Governing Boards are creations of Statutes and their responsibility is to give policy direction to the management of their institutions
“Your agencies are to the achievements of the developmental goals of government, being implementing entities
” You are all enjoined to commit to achieving these mandates and to live above Board”
Boards of eight agencies including those of the National Commission for Refugees , Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons ( NCFRMI), the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission ( NCPC), the National Lottery Trust Funds( NLTF) were inaugurated by the SGF.
Others include, the National Lottery Regulatory Commission ( NLRC), the Nigerian Atomic Energy Commission ( NAEC), Federal Road Safety Commission ( FRSC) the National Agency for the Control of AIDS ( NACA) and the Galaxy Backbone Limited (GB).
