The Bishop of Awka Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor has urged Christians and non-Christians in Nigeria to utilise the Christmas period to reconcile with God and their neighbours.
Ezeokafor who made the call while briefing journalists in Awka on Friday on the Christmas celebration,.
He reminded Christians of the imperatives of embracing more of spiritual lifestyles than ephemeral lifestyles that were counter-productive.
The prelate emphasised the need for Nigerians to think more of attributes that would better the lives of their fellow citizens rather than exploitative tendencies.
According to the bishop, Christians should be guided by the message of Christmas that calls for their imitation of the humility of Jesus Christ who was born in a manger.
On New Year, Bishop Ezeokafor urged Nigerians to play their part in order to make the new year better.
He enjoined leaders in their various capacities to be more alive to their responsibilities.
He advocated that emphasis for Nigerian leaders was to revamp the energy sector and develop the Agriculture industry to place food on the tables of Nigerians.
