President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Minister of Heath, Prof. Isaac Adewole to urgently investigate reports of an ‘unknown disease’ that has led to the death of several children in Jigawa State.
A statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and publicity, Garba Shehu, said the President also directed the Minister to deploy all the necessary machinery to combat the outbreak of the disease reported in Gidan Dugus village of Wangara district, Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The disease is said to be creating fears and panic, as most parents resort to self-help, which in most cases, only compounding the situation.
