Guinness Foreign Extra Stout is giving football fans an opportunity to watch a football game with legendary Footballer Thierry Henry in the latest Guinness National Consumer Promotion tagged “Be A Front Row Fan”. The campaign will also reward consumers of the iconic beer with millions of naira and other amazing prizes.
This was disclosed during a live screening of last Saturday, 28 October Premier League match involving Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur at the Winter Suite Bar, Owerri, Imo State. Several hundreds of football fans got a splendid afternoon with life-size screenings of premier league games, complete with live commentary. There were in-house analyses of the match from Owerri’s popular football analysts, Solomon Onuh and his crew from Hot FM Owerri, known as ‘Owerri’s hottest dial.’
It was the second time that Guinness would be in Owerri, an effervescent beer guzzling city, to promote EPL football as a good blend with its Guinness Foreign Extra Stout brand.

The “Be a Front Row Fan” promo, which would run for 14 weeks would also give 14 lucky consumers a chance to win N1 million each. Thousands of people would also be win N5,000 each; while loads of airtime will be up for grabs by million others.
To win an opportunity to watch a match with Thierry Henry, consumers only need to buy a bottle of the Guinness stout, called ‘iconic beer,’ and text the code under the crown cork with their name to 1759.
Thierry Henry, French international football star, is famous for his time at Premier League side, Arsenal FC of London, equally called “The Gunners,” where he was part of a team that won two league titles and three FA Cups; as well as leading his team to the 2006 UEFA Champions League final in his role as Arsenal captain.
He was named PR Players’ Player of the Year twice, and the FWA Footballer of the Year three times. Thierry Henry enriched the football viewing experience for all fans of the sport regardless of team loyalties.

Speaking on the National Consumer Promotion (NCP), Adenike Adebola, the marketing director of Guinness Stout, said, “We are really excited to be working with such a football legend this year. Henry carved his own path to bring his creative flair to the game. He worked hard to demonstrate his skill and ability; ultimately changing the way the game was played in England, and showing that he was truly ‘Made of Black.’ He is an inspirational ambassador for our Made of Black campaign.”
Adebola spoke on the NCP campaign, where “14 lucky consumers of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout will stand a chance to watch a game with international football icon, Thierry Henry, when he visits in December; in addition to winning N1 million each; thousands of consumers will win N5,000 cash and lots of instant airtime.”
She said further that “Guinness Stout has sustained a historic association to Football in Nigeria through its sponsorship of the EPL broadcast in Nigeria on the SuperSport channels, as well as its sponsorship of the Nigerian National Team – the Super Eagles; and annual consumer promotions such as Every Minute Made of Black that reward fans who buy and enjoy Guinness while watching the game.”
Meanwhile, Guinness Stout brand will also be celebrating ‘Everyday Football Heroes’ over the next year. That is, those passionate about football, who have shown their own Made of Black spirit and gone above and beyond to fulfil their football dreams and inspire others.
