Association of Telecom Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) has unveiled the nominees for the maiden edition of Nigeria Tech Innovation and Telecom Awards (NTITA) meant to reward and showcase excellence in the technology and telecom industry.
The awards would be held simultaneously with the Telecoms Executives and Regulator Forum (TERF), for regulators and policy makers in Nigeria ICT sector. The TERF is scheduled for Friday 10 November .The forum, in the last five years has attracted high-level participants from regulatory authorities and technology stakeholders for discussion on common policy and regulatory issues in the telecom and technology sector.
Olusola Teniola, President, ATCON in a statement said the award is to recognise and reward organisations and individuals at the forefront of innovation in the telecom industry. According to him, NTITA has been designed to re-define how excellence in the ICT services in Nigeria is recognised, highlighting the need for motivation to enable industry players perform better in the sector.

“If we keep honouring innovation and excellence we will be surprised that there will be an unprecedented growth not only in this sector, but generally. Our industry is on a fast lane and Africa needs to catch up with the developed nations as quickly as we can,” he stated.
Akin Naphtal, CEO Instinct Wave, a B2B event organizer in his remarks said the forum and awards would bring together the different brains that have contributed to the growth of the telecom and technology sector in Nigeria.
