Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, on Tuesday confessed that leaders within and outside the African continent were anxious about the President Buharis wellbeing and prayed for his safe return to Nigeria.
Akufo-Addo said this after a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday at the presidential villa, Abuja.
The Ghanaian leader arrived the villa at about 3:11pm and was received by President Buhari in company of his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari and other top government functionary.
The two leaders proceeded straight into the closed doors meeting after which only the Ghanaian leader spoke to State House Correspondents.
Speaking on their one hour interaction, the Ghanaian President said he was in the country to felicitate with President Buhari on his return and also engage him on other bilateral issues bothering on the relationship between the two countries.
According to him, “we have been anxious of his well being and are happy that he is back to the country. You know we as Africans, I came to see for myself how he was. The President is vigorous and very engaging on our affairs.
“We reviewed issues of interest to both countries and those of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
“Our big brother in Nigeria is well,” Akufo-Addo said.
Also speaking, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina said the meeting of the two leaders will further cement bilateral relations between the two countries.
He said it was significant that big countries in West African are maintaining such cordial relationship.
