The Federal Government has again vowed to deal in accordance with the law, any individual or groups making inciting statements across the country.
The Minister of interior Abdulrahaman Dambazau who handed down the Waring on Friday at ministry’s headquarters in Abuja said government will not fold its arms and watch decisive elements threaten the nations corporate existence.
Recall that the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum(AYCF) had issued ultimatum to Igbos residing in the North to vacate on or before October 1, 2017.
Dambazau said freedom of speech, as guaranteed for in the constitution, does not mean freedom to incite violence under whatever guise.
“The Federal Government has made assurances that nothing is going to happen to any person.
“Government will not sit down and watch as things deteriorate, because it is government’s responsibility to provide security.
“Freedom of speech does not mean freedom to incite, denigrate, hate speech.”
“We are making it categorically clear today,that anybody or group ,will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
“So, government is doing everything possible to ensure the ” protection of lives and properties of its citizens.” He said.
