In a bid to promote bonding among corporate organizations and encourage good and healthy living for more productivity at workplace, the 3rd edition of the Remita Corporate Champions Cup, otherwise known as RC3, returns with more excitement and energy. The tourney, regarded as the most prestigious league of all corporate football competitions in Nigeria, would run from August 12 through to August 27 at the Sports Pavilion of Yaba College of Technology (YabaTech).
Football lovers all over Nigeria will partake in one of the most thrilling sporting experiences ever in the country’s corporate life,
Competing in the 2017 edition of the annual competition are eight of Nigeria’s leading corporate brands – winners and runners-up of various industry games like Bankers Games, Insurance Games, FMCG Games, and Telecoms Games. The organisations that would be represented are: First Bank, UBA, VConnect, IHS, 9Mobile, Leadway Assurance, FrieslandCampina, and Nestle, all of whom would parade their best players.
In the quarterfinals draw held in Lagos on Tuesday, Leadway Assurance keeps date with FrieslandCampina, 9Mobile face the hurdle with defending champions Nestle.
First Bank lock horns with debutant VConnect and IHS tackles UBA in a place for the semifinals.
The competition, sponsored by SystemSpecs – Nigeria’s leading financial technology firms and owners of Remita, is in its 3rd edition and would kick off with a novelty match between the title sponsor’s team, better known as Remita Eagles, and football team of StanbicIBTC.
“SystemSpecs is pleased to be associated with this competition which encourages professionals in the corporate world to maintain the all-important balance between work and life,” said John Obaro, Managing Director of SystemSpecs. “This is particularly because, as an organisation, we know it is vital to the continued progress of our country,” Obaro added.
Speaking on expectations from the competition, one-time goalie of the Super Eagles and tournament ambassador, Peter Rufai, noted “With all that is on ground, the 2017 edition of RC3 would be more exciting than all others in the past.”
“Nigerians across the length and breadth of this nation should expect nothing short of football at its best from all participating corporate teams,” Dodo Mayana continued.
“As always, this edition of RC3 would provide a competitive yet friendly platform for professionals, their families and brands across various sectors of the economy to bond,” said Jimmy Sogbesan, Chief Operating Officer of MediaVision, organiser of the corporate soccer fest.
Players, supporters and spectators of various teams would also have a closer, personal and no-holds-barred experience with the newly launched Remita Mobile App at the venue. RC3 would therefore serve as a platform for SystemSpecs to connect with Remita’s teaming customers in the retail market.
Remita App enables individuals to easily access their account balances and operate their accounts across all banks either directly or via their cards, settle various bills, request money, pay for others, split payments, manage their expenses, and so much more.
Lives updates on the best of football skills and passion displayed by professionals during the tournament would be accessible via the handle RemitaC3 on both Facebook and Twitter.
