Buhari resumes, meets with attorney general and NNPC GMD
After two weeks of absence from the public, President Mohammadu Buhari showed up at office yesterday, dousing rising uncertainty over his state of health.
He met with the Attorney of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru.
Abubakar Malami, while speaking with journalists at the State House, Abuja, after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari disclosed that the Osinbajo committee investigating the US$43 million cash discovery in Ikoyi and the SGF will submit its report to the president tomorrow.
Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation, NNPC, Maikanti Baru who disclosed after the meeting that Nigeria’s crude oil production is now at two million barrels per day.
“This has been sustained for some time now, but when the pipelines were being attacked it went down to 1.5m bpd”
Nigeria has seen an uptick in crude oil production since militants reduced their attacks on oil assets in the Niger Delta after the federal government promised to meet their demands.
