The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company plc (Nahco aviance) has won the 2012 Ground Handling Service Provider of the year award organised by the African Airlines Association (AFRAA).
The association at its recently concluded Suppliers and Stakeholders’ Conference (ASASC) held in Nairobi, Kenya, said the company was awarded for exceptional and exemplary service delivery to the continent’s aviation industry.

AFRAA said the award was given based on the company’s adherence to international safety and security standards, attainment of IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) and investment in ground handling equipment and facilities at all its operational bases. Egypt Air Training Centre was presented with the award of Training Service Provider of the Year for its investment in state-of-the-art facilities and its dedication to developing the aviation industry; Serviar got the Aviation Catering and Inflight Service Provider of the year, while SITA was presented with the Aviation Service Provider of the Year for its heavy investment in research and development of new technologies and solutions.
