Edo State Government said it has earmarked a total of 30 intra-city roads within the Benin metropolis for rehabilitation to ease free flow of traffic during the yuletide period.

BusinessDay reports that the director, ministry of works John Obanor gave the hint while conducting the state governor, Godwin Obaseki on inspection round some of the project sites.
Obanor who said a total of 30 roads have been earmarked for rehabilitation noted that 10 of the roads were presently been attended to at the moment.
According to him, a total of 30 roads have been earmarked for rehabilitation but work is currently going on in about 10 of the roads.
He explained that the roads were being rehabilitated to reduce traffic congestion during the yuletide period.
He also explained that earth moving operations as well as asphalting have commenced on the roads and work was in progress.
The director of works listed some the roads to include the Cooke, James Watt, Ruben Agho, Jemide, Akhionbare as well as Ugbo roads.
The inspection team had the Deputy Governor of the state Phillip Shaibu, Secretary to State Government, Osarodion Ogie, Chief of Staff, Taiwo Akerele and Head of Service Gladys Idahor in attendance.
