The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has assured Nigerians that the ongoing maintenance works at the Warri Refinery would not affect stable supply of petroleum products.
This is contained in a statement signed by the acting group general manager, public affairs of the corporation, Tumini Green, in Abuja on Wednesday.
The plant was shut down last week due to a major fault at one of its strategic units.
The statement, however, said that the NNPC and its downstream subsidiary, the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), had stock enough products for the period of the maintenance.
It said that it was not true that the maintenance would lead to scarcity and illegal diversion of petroleum products, especially kerosene to some marketers.
