Kunle Ade-Ojo, managing director, Toyota Nigeria Limited (TNL), has been declared as Nigeria’s best Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the nation’s automobile industry for 2016.
Kunle Ade-Ojo, son of the company’s Chairman, trained in the United Kingdom, and worked in the United States of America before joining Toyota Nigeria Limited.
A graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Reading, United Kingdom, Ade-Ojo also holds an M.Sc. in Automotive Product Engineering from Cranfield University, United Kingdom.
The award was based on what Nigerian auto journalists described as professional management style, international best practice, good customer services, customer relations, media relations as well as ability to keep TNL on the number one position in the nation’s auto industry, despite recession.
Ade-Ojo, who become TNL’s CEO in May 1, 2014 had earlier worked extensively at Toyota Motor Sales, USA, before returning to Nigeria as the business and strategic development manager at TNL
When he took over from Chandrasheker Thampy, who stepped aside as the managing director of the organisation, following a management restructuring, Ade-Ojo, then in his 30’s, became TNL’s fourth managing director.
In addition to being declared CEO of the Year, Ade-Ojo’s brand also coasted home with two awards as the Best SUV of the Year awarded to Toyota LandCruiser Prado and Mini Bus of the Year won by Hiace mini bus on November 24, 2016 inside the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
