The Senate, Tuesday, rejected the request of President Muhammadu Buhari to borrow $29.9billion for the 2016-2018 External Borrowing Rolling Plan.
Although the borrowing plan was slated on the Order Paper. A motion was moved by the Senate Leader Ali Ndume that the request be referred to the relevant committee for further legislative action, it was rejected when it was put to voice vote by Senate President Bujola Sakari, who presided over plenary.
To clear his doubts, Saraki put the question to voice vote the second time and it was unanimously rejected.
