Nigerian food firms attending this year’s SIAL Trade Show holding October 16 to 20, in Paris, France, will have the opportunity to sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) with their foreign counterparts in area of food processing and packaging.
SIAL 2016 is a global food marketplace for food industry professionals, and Promosalons Nigeria, the official representative of Promosalons France in Nigeria, will be organising for Nigerian firms to attend this year‘s SIAL Paris with over 100 countries represented, 7,000 exhibitors expected and 21 products sectors represented.
“With Nigeria’s population estimated to be over 180 million and the decline in crude oil prices, which has been the mainstay of the nation, the Federal Government is making concerted efforts towards diversifying the sources of revenue from crude oil towards other sectors with food processing and agriculture as top priorities.
“Professionals, researchers and food production companies seem to have their work cut out for them as they need to engage in innovative and transformative activities to develop, adopt and engage in latest food technological services,” Akin Akinbola, managing director/CEO, Promosalons Nigeria, Cameroon and Gabon, said in a statement.

According to Akinbola, the food production and processing sector is aware of the fact that consumers are drawn by the diversity and attractiveness of the products available (at the best prices), and thus they have to tailor their products and services towards adapting, and learning how to respond to the ever-evolving needs of today’s consumer.
Some of the firms that make up Nigerian business delegation for this year’s trade show include: All Farmers Association of Nigeria; Starfruit Food Limited; Levi’s Kitchen; Kazsann Agroallied Ventures Limited; Faha Dynamics West Africa Limited; C.H.F Heron Nigeria Limited; Delifrost; Xo Trading; Xo Wine Nigeria; Gerar & Shebah Inv Limited; Adebayo Bakery And Confect. Nigeria Limited; O.E.K.O Enterprises, Ugodurumba Enterprises Limited, etc.
SIAL Paris 2016 will demonstrate how this biennial trade show has indeed developed into the food industry’s front-line event – the ultimate place to discover today’s food trends and explore tomorrow’s innovations
Over 160,000 professionals from around the world are expected to attend the five-day show. Arranged into food sectors and geographical regions, SIAL’s one-of-a-kind layout lets visitors customise their experience and explore the trade show according to their own particular needs – something that no other fair can offer to such a wide-ranging public.
Going beyond its status as a professional networking and trade event, SIAL continues to be the food sector’s main information hub, offering insight into the mechanisms of a market worth $1.5 trillion. With double-digit growth expected in 2016, SIAL Paris confirms its status as the greatest and most inspiring food trade show in the world.
