A gunman opened fire at a strip mall in southwest Houston early Monday, injuring several people, officials said.
Police say they shot the suspect after shutting down surrounding streets in what they had initially described as an active shooting situation. The shooter’s condition and motive are not known.
Police said they do not believe there are any additional shooters.
The Houston Fire Department told HuffPost that six people were transported to the hospital. The extent of their injures is unknown.
Houston police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
