Babatunde Fashola, Nigeria’s minister of works, power and housing, late Thursday evening, visited the collapsing section of the Ijora-Apapa Bridge.
Details of the minister’s visit to the danger zone as at the time of this report were sketchy. However, Hakeem Bello, the special adviser to the minister on media, when contacted, promised to unveil the details later.
Fashola was accompanied on the visit by Godwin Eke, federal controller of works and Georges Mohanna, managing director, Buildwell Plants & Equipment Industries Ltd, which gave the impression that the company might be drafted to provide a palliative measure to enable motorists access the failed portion which had been cordoned off for some days now.
